A report on WebMd makes it clear in the article Give Your Body a Boost with Laughter. When we laugh, we excite a large number of muscles & the heart starts pumping more blood to the tissues,charging them with new life.
The Wikipedia note on laughter mentions how the brain & the entire body rejuvenates when you laugh. Laughter also distracts us & takes our mind off stressful thoughts, anger & frustration. Laughter turns out to be a positive way of giving out your negative energy.
Another fascinating report on Seattle Times reports that laughter could also cause you lose weight. Researchers mentioned in this article that “Laughing 100 to 200 times per day is the cardiovascular equivalent of rowing for 10 minutes” – that is 30 minutes of my daily gym time!
And the best part? A hearty smile & a laugh makes you look great! Makes you appear warm & welcoming & you will automatically relax people around you.
So if you are a little stressed out with your work, or somewhat tensed with your job, or you are unable to concentrate because something is bothering you, pick up something funny to make you laugh.
